New paper published in Advanced Science!

We are pleased to announce the publication of our latest work introducing Brillouin–Raman Microspectroscopy on-a-Chip, an integrated, label-free setup to probe mechano-chemical dynamics in 3D biological systems under controlled mechanical deformation, by combining Brillouin and Raman microscopy within microfluidic devices.

Applied to breast tumor spheroids, the platform reveals how rapid, cyclical mechanical deformations—mimicking in vivo stresses—drive profound changes in tumor physiology, including nuclear shape remodeling, transcriptional reprogramming with a strong upregulation of ATF3 and global spheroid stiffening.
This work was carried out as an interdisciplinary project coordinated by LAB-ICS and Dr. Brenda Green and Prof. Giorgio Scita @ IFOM -Milan.
